Cricket is a super fun team sport played with a bat, a ball, and some really cool tactics! Imagine baseball but with some twists and turns.
1. Teams:
Each team has 11 players.
One team bats while the other fields.
2. Batting:
Batter: The player who hits the ball.
Wicket: 3 sticks (called stumps) with 2 little sticks on top (called bails) behind the batter.
Run: When the batter hits the ball and runs to the opposite end.
3. Bowling:
Bowler: The player who throws the ball to the batter.
Over: 6 balls bowled by a bowler.
4. Fielding:
Players try to stop the ball and get the batter out.
Fielders: Players who are not bowling or batting.
How to Score?
Run: 1 point for each run the batter completes.
Boundary: 4 points when the ball crosses the boundary line.
Six: 6 points when the ball is hit over the boundary without touching the ground.
How to Get Out?
There are many ways to get a batter out, but here are the basics:
Bowled: The bowler hits the stumps with the ball.
Caught: The ball is caught by a fielder before it bounces.
Run Out: The fielders hit the stumps with the ball while the batter is running.
Let’s Play!
Toss: Before the game, a coin is tossed to decide which team bats first.
Innings: Each team gets a turn to bat and field.
Winner: The team with the most runs wins!
Stay Safe: Always wear protective gear like helmets, pads, and gloves.
Ready to Play? Grab a bat, a ball, and some friends! Cricket is all about teamwork, skill, and most importantly, having a blast! Let’s hit some sixes and take some wickets!
